Admission Criteria

Priorities for Admission

The school follows the following priority for various categories of admission in the School:-

  1. Children of serving Army personnel including DSC (Ex- Army), children of Army widows and children of those TA personnel who have a minimum of 5 years embodied service.
  2. Children of Army Ex-Army personnel retired/invalid out of medical grounds with pension, DSC personnel retired with pension from DSC.
  3. Children of serving Air Force, Naval and Coast Gaurd personnel.
  4. Children of retired Air Force, Naval and Coast Gaurd personnel.
  5. Children of Ex-Army personnel who left Army with less than 10 years of service and not categorized as ESM.
  6. Children of civilians paid out of Defence estimates, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), MES, GREF, TA (when not embodied).
  7. Grand children of serving/ retired Army Personnel.
  8. Other children.

In case of difficulty in adjusting all children of serving Army Personnel, SAMC has prioritized children at part 1 (a) as follows:

  1. Transfer cases from APS and private recognized schools.
  2. KV Transfer cases.
  3. Transfer cases from local schools within the city.
  4. All other cases.

Note:- Children under Para 1 (f) to (h) will be considered civil children for the purpose of admission.

Evaluation Test

An evaluation test is held to assess the academic standard of the applicant only if the candidate is arriving from a school other than an APS. If the applicant is not of suitable standard, the parents are advised accordingly.

Admission Test

Subjects for admission test will be as follows:-

  1. Class I: No admission test will be conducted (Only Interaction).
  2. Class II to V: English, Hindi, Maths (One composite paper of two hours duration conducted on a single day. English – 35 Marks, Hindi – 30 Marks & Maths – 35 Marks).
  3. Class VI to X: English, Hindi, Maths & Science (Two composition papers of two hours duration, each conducted on two days. First Paper – English & Hindi – 100 marks each. Second Paper – Maths & Science – 100 marks each).
  4. Class XI to XII:  English (50 Marks) and Elective Subjects (50 Marks).

* For Fresh admission to Class XI, in the case of non APS transfer, percentage of marks for various streams given above will be increased by 10% for categories laid down in Para 1 (d) to (h)

Admission Test results will be declared on 27 Mar 2020 and list of qualified candidates will be displayed at 1230h in Senior Wing.

Note:- The standard of Admission test will be of the level of the annual examination of the class preceding to which admission is sought.
